This announcement is very past due, but I want to introduce you to the newest member of the family.
THIS IS KIRBY!!!
Cute, right?!?
We did not go into this year expecting to get a puppy. After Zelda died, the energy in the house wasn’t right. Part of that was the shock of her sudden passing, but it was also the emptiness of the house. Nick and I both grew up with dogs, and this was the first time in a long time that both of us had no pets in the home. (He also had a dog, Harley Quinn, that passed away last year.) So we decided that we were ready for another dog and started looking hoping to bring one home this summer.
You know how sometimes everything aligns kind of perfectly? As soon as I started asking around about corgi puppies, it just so happens that I was connected with a breeder who just had a litter of corgis. And she had one available in the color I prefer. And best of all, she decided to leave theses puppies’ tails intact (something that I really wanted, but you usually have to catch the breeder and get them to agree to this before the puppies are born)! So I sent in a deposit, and in May, we were able to bring Kirby home.
He is such a joy! But in true puppy fashion, he’s been a little bit of work which left almost no windows of time for blogging. Well, now he’s getting older and a bit calmer, so I’m hoping to be able to get back into the swing of things. Lots of stuff has been happening around here, and I really want to share.
So if you notice a new gardener buddy in the background, you’ll now know who he is. 🙂
