Again, I’m unfashionably late with this announcement. I spoke yesterday about major life changes, but focused on the moving. Well, we had another big event in November that warrants some chatter…
People, this is Navi!
Again, crazy cute! What puppy isn’t?!?
Nick and I knew that we’d eventually get a second dog, but we didn’t think it would happen this soon. The problem we had is that Kirby is incredibly social. To the point that him being an only child felt so, so cruel. Seriously, he was very sad when his puppy friends had to go home! So I contacted the breeder to see about getting him a friend. The stars aligned again. She had a litter on the way due at the end of September (same dad pup so Navi and Kirby are half siblings). And she would gladly accommodate our want for a corgi with a tail which effectively meant we had pick of the litter. So the day she was born, she sent me photos of the pups, I chose this beautiful girl here, the rest of her siblings lost their tails, and that was that!
Navi is a very sweet little girl. Has just the right amount of spunk and sass, but loves her kisses and snuggles. She’s brave, but vocally emotional when she’s trying challenging things. And she’s also quite sociable, but not nearly as much as Kirby (I don’t think any dog could beat him there).
So what does Kirby think?
HE FREAKING LOVES HER SO MUCH! These two are best buddies! And, at times, a couple of troublemakers. I learned that one of their new favorite pastimes is terrorizing my garden! Another secret reason I was hoping to see my old garden in the spring is to see if it survived the haircut these two gave everything unbeknownst to me until it was too late. So I’m not sure these two are going to be the garden helpers I envisioned just yet. But I’m confident they’ll be able to occupy each other enough that I can get stuff done.
Even though these two came into our lives much sooner than we anticipated, we couldn’t feel more lucky to have them. Our home feels complete, they get to grow up being the best of buddies. We couldn’t ask for any more than that.
